CAPTAIN LINDSEY M. COLBURN

Capt Lindsey M. Colburn is the Recruiting Flight Commander and Education Officer at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Detachment 290, University of Kentucky (KY), Lexington, KY.  She is responsible for all recruiting activities, as well as the direction of all classroom instruction and testing conducted at the detachment.  In addition, Capt Colburn is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and instructs the AS100 and AS300 level curriculums.

Capt Colburn graduated from Cazenovia College in 2006, and was commissioned in the United States Air Force through Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB), Ala. in February 2011.  Prior to her current position, Capt Colburn was the Commander of Detachment 1, 18th Force Support Squadron, Kadena Air Base, Japan, where she directed a $150 million remote air station and outdoor recreation site supporting over 100,000 joint service guests annually.  Capt Colburn oversaw operations across five career fields including Civil Engineers, Security Forces, Communications, Services, and Logistics.  She commanded 122 US military, DoD civilian, and local national civilians in support of eight diverse activities and controlled $10.5 million in operating budget and capital assets.

Off duty, Capt Colburn is also a former professional equestrian and amateur ice hockey goaltender.
